Position Overview: Control Systems Programming Specialist

Location: Remote

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide expert assistance for the deployment, commissioning, initiation, and troubleshooting of diverse automation and control projects.

• Develop Control System Architecture (CSA) tailored to project specifications.

• Create User Requirement Documents (URD) for PLC and HMI programming tasks.

• Integrate machine vision systems with PLCs to enhance operational efficiency.

• Design electrical and control panel layouts, including control schematic diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOM).

• Conduct safety validation, including safety maps and IQ/OQ documentation for new equipment installations.

• Coordinate multi-discipline efforts and vendor collaboration for new equipment setups.

• Review engineering and vendor documentation in accordance with project needs.

• Develop feasibility studies and detailed engineering documents such as cable schedules and device lists for new machinery.

• Produce and assess technical documents to guide fabricators and contractors in executing site activities efficiently.

• Ensure timely delivery of complex, large-scale projects while adhering to budget constraints and compliance with industry standards such as NEC, NFPA79, OSHA, S88, and PackML.

Technical Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Electrical & Control Drawing Software - EPLAN, Promis-E, AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with Communication Networks - Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus.

• Knowledge of Programming Standards: IEC Ladder Programming, FBD (Functional Block Diagram), PackML, and Safety PLC Programming.

• Competence in Microsoft Tools: Windows 7, Windows 10, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook; VM Ware.

• Understanding of machine safety requirements and implementation, including NFPA79 and CBA 2050.

• Awareness of NFPA 70E requirements and experience with relevant electrical PPE.

• Strong work ethic and initiative; capable of planning and executing tasks with minimal supervision. Collaborative and responsive team player with a capacity for rapid learning.

• Experience in manufacturing, packing, and facilities management, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.

• Support project execution from concept through validation to startup activities.
