Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Milliken & Co. as an Electrical Systems Specialist. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical problems, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment, and ensuring compliance with safety and productivity requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the troubleshooting function for mechanical and electrical downtime
  • Manage a team of Control Equipment Technicians
  • Oversee major equipment overhauls, plant safety projects, and infrastructure projects
  • Develop and engage Valway Engineering Services associates
  • Schedule Valway maintenance to maintain process and material handling equipment
  • Review and respond to significant Valway downtime losses
  • Ensure spare part inventories are maintained to avoid downtime events
  • Track and document associate performance for ES direct reports
  • Control labor costs through management of non-straight time labor
  • Ensure ES equipment is maintained by competent associates
  • Owner of ES Continuous Skills Development for direct reports
  • Schedule Valway ES and maintenance technician associates and resources
  • Owner of ES Daily Team Maintenance in shop areas
  • Engage ES associates and technicians daily
  • Assist with equipment acquisition and installation within budget
  • Ensure contractor safety program is executed successfully
  • Oversee utilities function and reduce utilities cost
  • Oversee supply cost centers and maintain/reduce supply cost
  • Ensure Valway equipment meets environmental and regulatory permit requirements
Requirements
  • Four-year electrical engineering degree or 5+ years engineering experience
  • Leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, financial management, and business acumen skills
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, and comprehend written/verbal instruction
  • Computer data entry skills and ability to operate a lift truck safely and efficiently
Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing facility with a loud noise level, temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and humidity levels over 98% for 100% of the day.

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at the time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork.

Candidate must be able to commute to the plant location in LaGrange, Georgia. Position does not provide sponsorship.
