Patient-Centered Care Coordinator

The Ocala FL Orthopaedic ASC LLC is a leading outpatient surgery center specializing in orthopaedic surgeries such as total joint replacements, joint arthroscopies, and hand surgeries.
We believe in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care where patients feel comfortable and safe. Our center is home to three board-certified orthopaedic surgeons who have served Ocala and their North Central Florida neighbors for over 25 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize equipment effectively following manufacturer's instructions for use.
- Employ proper techniques and procedures according to accepted standards of practice.
- Assist with inventory management of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the admission area.
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the PreOp/Admitting area.
- Participate as a team member in support of the total pre-anesthesia care process.
- Verify patient identity and procedure using two patient identifiers.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to prepare the pre-procedure area.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity.
- Administer medication(s) per physician order.
- Accurately comprehend and interpret physician orders and direction.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Evaluate patient condition and maintain accurate documentation during the pre-anesthesia period.
- Monitor and report any observed abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Document patient-care records and other forms accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner, following policies and procedures.
- Develop a plan of care based on patient needs related to the planned procedure and type of anesthesia.
- Assess the physical and emotional status of the patient in preparation for the planned procedure.
- Review post-procedure instructions with patients and responsible adults.
- Determine and document patient and responsible adult understanding of discharge instructions and indications for seeking emergent care.
- Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management.
- Assess each patient for fall precautions and address accordingly.
- Transport patients as needed, observing policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Attend all required education.
