Job Title: Food Service Technician I

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Food Service Technician I to join our team at Southeastern Virginia Training Center. As a Food Service Technician I, you will be responsible for delivering meals to residential homes, loading and unloading food carts, and maintaining a clean and safe food service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a delivery truck to and from residential homes
  • Load and unload food carts on and off the truck for delivery
  • Perform duties as trained and follow all safety standards and posted speed limits
  • Push food carts into homes and connect them to a re-therm unit
  • Double-check all carts to ensure hot and cold food are on correct sides for delivery
  • Deliver meal carts to homes in any kind of weather situation
  • Responsible for washing dishes, lids, and food trays to BOH standards
  • Must properly assemble and disassemble the dishwasher
  • Set up trays with condiments and make supplemental food orders
  • Assure food is served hot/cold as needed
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
  • Wash carts inside and out and wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
  • Keep food service area clean by scrubbing tables and floors as needed

Requirements:

  • Food Service/Restaurant experience to include cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, kitchen equipment, and workstations, adhering to food safety standards
  • Assisting with daily meal preparation
  • Loading, unloading, and organizing food and supplies, ensuring proper storage to maintain freshness and quality
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active, valid driver's license required

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in residential food service work, food consistencies, or diet requirements are preferred
