Job Summary

The Janitorial Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting individuals with significant disabilities in developing work skills and enhancing their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals with significant disabilities to enable them to develop work skills and advance their knowledge, skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining site premises.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and constructive environment among all staff members.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure all goals or objectives are accomplished.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Determine materials, supplies, and equipment needs and submit to PM for approval.
  • Identify staff development and training gaps; consult with PM to ensure training is obtained.
  • Train employees on job-specific tasks.
  • Identify and problem-solve in a timely manner. Elevate to PM when necessary.
  • Address tardiness and attendance of staff in a positive manner and provide recognition when appropriate.
  • Review requests for leave and make recommendations to the Project Manager for approval according to Didlake policy.
  • Work with Employment Services to assure program plans are followed and appropriate accommodations are made.
  • Provide leadership to staff by fostering cooperation.
  • Give feedback to nurture a positive environment and quality performance.
  • Model dependability, hard work, strong ethics, and professional appearance.
  • Assure appropriate workplace conduct as dictated by Didlake policy and procedures.
  • Interview potential employees and make recommendations for hire.
  • Assure safety of employees by monitoring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety policies.
  • Hold regular meetings with employees on priorities, assigned work, and results of inspections.
  • Utilize training opportunities to expand professional and technical knowledge.
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and repair. Tag out equipment when necessary; notify PM of all equipment issues.
  • Complete required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Act as Didlake representative and a good steward of government resources.
  • Complete and maintain all required Didlake training.
