Role Overview
The Urban Mobility Programs Coordinator will spearhead, organize, and oversee initiatives and outreach related to bicycle, pedestrian, and personal mobility within the City.

Work Schedule
This position operates on a 4/10 schedule, with hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Flexibility for evening or weekend meetings/events may be required.

Key Responsibilities
The Urban Mobility Programs Coordinator will:

  • Engage with stakeholders and the community on mobility challenges and initiatives for cyclists, pedestrians, and personal mobility device users.
  • Coordinate mobility training sessions for City staff, Commissioners, Councilmembers, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate quarterly meetings with the Mobility Stakeholder Group, preparing agendas and documenting minutes.
  • Plan and execute bicycle-related activities for the City.
  • Conduct research and prepare comprehensive reports, memos, and correspondence regarding mobility programs and initiatives.
  • Review development plans and documents to assess their impact on cyclists, pedestrians, and personal mobility devices.
  • Prepare mobility-related materials for City Committees, Commissions, and Council.
  • Manage the bike locker rental program at various City facilities.
  • Oversee new mobility programs and contract services related to these initiatives.
  • Administer budget and accounting functions for mobility programs.
  • Collaborate with transportation agencies on mobility issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from the public and staff regarding mobility matters.
  • Assist in grant applications and project administration.
  • Maintain accurate records and files.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, transportation, public administration, communication, or a related field.
  • Some experience in transportation planning is preferred, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • A valid California driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
