The Crozer Health Medical Group (CHMG) offers a compelling opportunity for a seasoned Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to become part of a well-established team dedicated to surgical services.
Position Overview:
- The selected provider will engage with various surgical specialties, including:
General Surgery
Trauma Surgery
Neurosurgery
Burn Surgery
Vascular Surgery
Colorectal Surgery
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Surgical ICU
Plastic Surgery
- Clinical services are delivered at Crozer Chester Medical Center.
- The role involves providing advanced practice care in collaboration with attending surgeons, overseeing the clinical management of designated patients.
- Practices with a significant degree of autonomy and proficiency in diagnosing and treating complex patient and family responses to health issues.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain such a license.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical and/or surgical experience is required; experience in Emergency Departments or Critical Care is preferred.
- Ability to perform minor procedures under supervision (such as suturing and IV line placement) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to multitask and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills for interaction with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated understanding and assessment of clinical risk.
- Ability to evaluate patient concerns, plan and implement appropriate nursing interventions, and ensure timely communication with physicians for complex issues.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is essential.
- Consistent professional demeanor and meticulous attention to detail are required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responds promptly and appropriately to trauma alerts and activations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiographic studies, to identify and address patient clinical issues and health needs.
- Effectively prioritizes patient care.
- Acts as a liaison to facilitate communication and coordinate care among various consulting clinical disciplines, patients, and their families.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe discharge and continuity of care for patients.
