Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Charleston, SC

Job Type: Part-Time, Onsite

Shift/Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday: 5:30 AM - 1 PM
  • Saturday: 5:30 AM - 7:30 AM

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist I to work in a fast-paced environment. The role involves performing blood draws at one location and processing specimens at another. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, confident in their phlebotomy skills, and able to handle a high volume of patients daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process blood samples efficiently.
  • Work closely with the nursing staff to receive patients and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a high standard of care while ensuring timely specimen processing.
  • Utilize data entry skills for logging specimens and managing patient information.
  • Stand for the majority of the shift in a medium-sized behavioral hospital environment.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience, with confidence in drawing blood from all types of patients, including those with hard-to-find veins (hard sticks).
  • Experience with specimen processing and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Phlebotomy experience with pediatric patients.
  • Familiarity with working in a behavioral hospital setting.

Vaccination Requirements:

  • TB, Hepatitis B (Required)
