Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We offer a range of services, including diagnostic evaluations, assessments, medication management, psychotherapy, crisis therapy, health care screening, and preventative/health maintenance services. Our team of professionals works collaboratively to provide comprehensive care to our clients.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, a valid California Registered Nurse license, and a Nurse Practitioner certificate. You will also need valid DEA registration and a California Furnishing Number. Board certification by ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is required, or alternatively, board certification from ANCC or AANP as an Adult, Adult-Gerontology, or Family Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of experience with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner. You will also need active malpractice insurance and BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Responsibilities:
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders. You will also provide crisis assessment and manage level of risk for patients in distress. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our clients. You will document care in our electronic medical record according to Medicare and Medi-Cal standards and submit written reports and oral testimony as needed. You will also assist the Program Director and key clinical staff in the administration of the clinical program and train staff in the knowledge and skills basic to the integrated and stage-based treatment of severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring severe substance use disorders.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires continual sitting, typing, and repetitive computer use for up to 8 hours a day. You will also need to communicate effectively with others, including hearing and speaking clearly with individuals and groups, in person and via phone and video calls. Ability to lift 50 pounds at times is also required. Local travel and transport may be necessary. These requirements represent those that must be met to perform the job's essential functions successfully.
