Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at LifeLong Medical Care. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to our patients in a medical setting.
Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric assessments and administer treatment to referred primary care patients.
- Offer diagnostic and treatment consultation to primary care providers and other clinicians.
- Develop and implement psychiatric treatment plans with the patient's primary care provider and other clinical providers or staff.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and phone conversations to coordinate services for our patients.
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to clinic team members on psychiatric issues relevant to primary care.
- Actively participate in regular meetings of all LifeLong psychiatrists.
- Help conduct functional assessments of patients and make appropriate referrals when indicated.
- Document mental health disabilities in partnership with other clinic staff and help patients with disability program applications and appeals when necessary.
- Provide integrated mental health and substance abuse treatment services and planning for patients.
- Help develop and conduct staff trainings regarding psychiatric care when appropriate.
- Participate in ongoing program development and improvement activities.
- Complete necessary documentation for clinical records and billing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Current CA Nurse Practitioner license and Board Certification as a PMHNP.
- DEA and furnishing licenses with the ability to obtain within one year.
- Training and experience in public sector work, community mental health, and working with dually diagnosed clients.
- Strong computer skills, including EHR Epic.
- Spanish speaking highly preferred but not required.
