Position Summary
The Plant Manager serves as the principal leader on-site, overseeing all operations within the facility's boundaries and spearheading the production process. This role requires fostering a collaborative atmosphere among operations, sales, engineering, accounting, and logistics teams. The ideal candidate will champion continuous improvement in workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost management, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations for all employees and visitors on-site, promoting a culture of safety.
- Oversee production scheduling to fulfill customer requirements, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and facilitate proactive communication within the team.
- Collaborate with the engineering department to guarantee that accurate drawings and designs are utilized during manufacturing.
- Manage procurement of materials and services essential for the facility's operations.
- Effectively recruit, supervise, orient, train, and retain operational and production staff.
- Uphold a clean and organized workplace that is always ready for tours.
- Interpret technical drawings, plan production tasks accordingly, and mentor employees to ensure correct product output.
- Possess the ability to operate standard tools on the plant floor, such as overhead cranes and hand tools, to enhance coaching and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Lead and mentor team leaders, motivate staff during meetings, and promote safety best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Production Manager role within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Experience in precast/concrete or building materials is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in fostering a culture of continuous improvement at the plant level.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods in a production environment, which may be unconditioned.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other leaders.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range is $115,000-$130,000.
