As an Underwriter Assistant at Statewide Underwriting Services, you will work in tandem with Underwriters and Technical Assistants, contributing significantly to the efficiency of our operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and assess rates/quotes for new and existing accounts as directed by Underwriters.
- Effectively manage a substantial workload while maintaining high standards.
- Input data for new and renewal business into the management system.
- Support Underwriters in meeting their production targets.
- Organize inspections for new and renewal policies.
- Evaluate inspection reports and prioritize necessary actions.
- Draft and process various correspondence and endorsements as instructed.
- Address corrective endorsements when required.
- Retrieve requested information promptly.
- Complete necessary documentation and worksheets.
- Assist management with project-related tasks.
- Work towards achieving established performance goals.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Provide assistance to colleagues as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently.
- Professional demeanor and work ethic.
- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with telephone systems and various computer applications.
- Experience in the insurance sector is advantageous.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position that offers flexible remote work options, with standard working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
