Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Dispatcher plays a crucial role in the success of our organization, ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of our program participants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for dispatching transportation services, managing alert screens, and reviewing trip logs to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage alert screens to log and review trips, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Document and report any unusual incidents involving drivers and/or participants.
- Manage vehicle availability and routes to optimize transportation services.
- Ensure all trips are accounted for, with no open will-calls, unassigned trips, or runs without drivers.
- Manage trip adjustments as needed to maintain efficient operations.
- Verify that all drivers are accounted for and complete end-of-day duties.
- Prepare for the next day's operations by reviewing upcoming trips and schedules.
- Cancel any trips that will not be performed and communicate with participants and relevant departments as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the transportation department and center staff for updates and answers.
- Communicate changes or adjustments with contracted transportation services in tandem with the dispatch manager.
- Assist with maintaining the transportation hub and updating participant profiles or schedules as needed.
- Attend educational programming to maintain competency with routing and scheduling software.
- Follow all CEI policies and procedures, as well as agency training requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to CEI's safety policies and procedures.
- Display a courteous, helpful, and professional attitude, with a willingness to be responsive to all customer groups.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience in a dispatch or related administrative function.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Phone experience in a call center environment is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively problem-solve complex issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary setting.
- Bilingual a plus but not required.
