Job Title: Transportation Dispatcher

The Transportation Dispatcher plays a crucial role in the success of our organization, ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of our program participants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for dispatching transportation services, managing alert screens, and reviewing trip logs to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage alert screens to log and review trips, ensuring timely and accurate information.
  2. Document and report any unusual incidents involving drivers and/or participants.
  3. Manage vehicle availability and routes to optimize transportation services.
  4. Ensure all trips are accounted for, with no open will-calls, unassigned trips, or runs without drivers.
  5. Manage trip adjustments as needed to maintain efficient operations.
  6. Verify that all drivers are accounted for and complete end-of-day duties.
  7. Prepare for the next day's operations by reviewing upcoming trips and schedules.
  8. Cancel any trips that will not be performed and communicate with participants and relevant departments as needed.
  9. Act as a liaison between the transportation department and center staff for updates and answers.
  10. Communicate changes or adjustments with contracted transportation services in tandem with the dispatch manager.
  11. Assist with maintaining the transportation hub and updating participant profiles or schedules as needed.
  12. Attend educational programming to maintain competency with routing and scheduling software.
  13. Follow all CEI policies and procedures, as well as agency training requirements.
  14. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to CEI's safety policies and procedures.
  15. Display a courteous, helpful, and professional attitude, with a willingness to be responsive to all customer groups.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1-2 years' experience in a dispatch or related administrative function.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  5. Phone experience in a call center environment is a plus.
  6. Strong organizational skills.
  7. Ability to effectively problem-solve complex issues.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary setting.
  10. Bilingual a plus but not required.
