Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic II (B) to join our team at King Aerospace. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshoot and Repair Aircraft Components: Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and modify aircraft structures, components, and appliances, such as wings, fuselage, and functional components, including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulic units, and engines, with minimal supervision.
  2. Interpret Technical Documents: Responsible for reading and interpreting Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Technical Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, local directives, and other specifications to determine Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved maintenance requirements, methods, and procedures.
  3. Inspect and Maintain Aircraft Engines: Accountable for examining engines for component damage and security, heat damage, and fluid leaks. Inspect turbine blades to detect Foreign Object Damage (FOD) or material wear or failure through visual and borescope.
  4. Conduct Engine Testing and Maintenance: Conducts testing of engine operation to locate the source of malfunction and performs operational checks. Replaces worn, damaged, and failed components, such as fuel controllers, starter/generators, etc.
  5. Perform Miscellaneous Duties: Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including but not limited to, changing and/or inspecting fuel and oil filters, cleaning screens, aircraft lubrication, and wheel and tire maintenance. Charge and service Nicad batteries, aircraft, and engine compressor wash, cleaning, and servicing on-board water and sanitation systems. Mix paint and apply for touch-up of aircraft and components.
  6. Maintain Aircraft Documentation: Accountable for maintaining aircraft discrepancy books, required Army forms, completes (MISA) and Airframe and Engine forms/logbooks, as well as all required FAA documentation.
  7. Comply with Safety Requirements: Complies with all safety requirements and uses all mandated safety equipment in accordance with company, government, and OSHA requirements.
  8. Assist Coworkers: Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job duties and functions when necessary.

  1. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance, modification, and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components is required.
  2. Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certification: Must have technical knowledge to repair, maintain, modify, and overhaul various major aircraft operating systems. Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) certification is required for specific work requirements.
  3. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.
  4. Computer Skills: Internet software, E-mail, Microsoft office, and Management Information System for Aviation.
  5. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: This position requires a current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license.
