Senior Research Scientist: Artificial General Intelligence

Tencent Americas is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our AI Lab in Seattle. As a Principal Researcher, you will be responsible for advancing the state of the art in artificial general intelligence (AGI) with a focus on audio, speech, and multimodal processing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop novel model architectures and algorithms to tackle complex tasks in AGI, including speech enhancement, speech recognition, audio/speech synthesis, and spatial audio.
- Collaborate with other researchers to identify new research areas, long-term goals, and intermediate milestones.
- Design experiments, write reusable code, run evaluations, and analyze results.
- Prioritize research that can be applied to Tencent's products and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly.
- Author research papers to share and generate impact across organizations and the research community.
- PhD degree in AI, computer science, electrical engineering, math, physics, or related technical fields.
- Proven record of influential publications in AI or speech, music, and audio-specific conferences/journals.
- Expertise in speech, music, and audio processing from both signal processing and machine learning standpoints.
- Proficient in building and optimizing models for speech recognition, synthesis, enhancement, or other audio-related tasks.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches in speech, music, and audio processing.
- Understanding of related fields such as acoustics, auditory perception, computer vision, natural language processing, or neuroscience.
- Experience working with large-scale speech, music, audio, and video datasets and developing big models that scale across multiple GPUs or cloud-based systems.
