Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer/Scientist - Artificial Intelligence Expert

At Apple Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer/Scientist to join our AIML Information Intelligence team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing groundbreaking technology for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing Sophisticated Machine Learning Models: You will design and develop large-scale machine learning and deep learning models to improve query understanding and ranking of search.
  • Large Language Model Development: You will work with researchers and data scientists to develop, fine-tune, and evaluate domain-specific Large Language Models for various tasks and applications in Apple's AI-powered products.
  • Applied Research: You will conduct applied research to transfer cutting-edge research in generative AI to production-ready technologies.
  • Product Requirements Understanding: You will understand product requirements, translate them into modeling tasks and engineering tasks, and build machine-learned models for search relevance, ranking, and query understanding problems.
  • Integration and Production Systems: You will integrate search functions into Apple products, such as Siri, Spotlight, Safari, Messages, Lookup, etc., and build end-to-end production systems including query understanding and ranking to power search.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning: You should have experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, or data mining.
  • Language Proficiency: You should be proficient in one of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, C++.
  • Machine Learning Algorithms: You should have excellent knowledge and good practical skills in major machine learning algorithms.
  • Data Analytical Skills: You should have excellent data analytical skills.
  • Team Player: You should be a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: You should have a MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or related field.
  • Large Scale Data-Mining and Machine Learning: You should have experience with large-scale data-mining and/or machine learning.
  • Web Crawling: You should have experience with web crawling.
  • ML and LLM Model Inference Optimization: You should have experience with ML and LLM model inference optimization.

Compensation and Benefits: Apple Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including a base pay range of $131,500 to $243,300, and a range of benefits, including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and a range of discounted products and free services.
