About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our Operations Team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation department, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise a team of drivers and material handlers, providing training and coaching to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance.
  • Dispatch trucks daily, ensuring timely delivery of store products and maintaining neat and orderly donation sites.
  • Coordinate with donors to ensure 100% pickup of donations for Real Estate for Rehabilitation and Corporate pickups.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet The Salvation Army's standards and are safe for operation.
  • Supervise donation operations, including training donation attendants, managing donation locations, and maintaining donor relations.
  • Review and approve timecards for direct reports, ensuring compliance with Wage and Hours requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with ARC policies and government regulations.
  • Participate in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass TSA driver and safety training series.
  • Minimum five years of experience in light industrial, transportation, or operations management.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
Working Conditions

The Transportation Supervisor will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, requiring the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. The role also requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a motor vehicle.
