POSITION SUMMARY:

Job Title: Room Attendant

Department: Rooms Department

Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time, Part Time, Temporary, and On Call

Supervised By: Hotel Manager and Front Desk Supervisor

Supervises: This position does not supervise any staff.

The Room Attendant is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of guest accommodations, lobby areas, and shared spaces as per the standards set by Sand & Sea. Responsibilities include reporting maintenance issues and addressing guest inquiries or concerns. A successful candidate must uphold the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents for designated surfaces, adhering to OSHA regulations and hotel protocols.
  • Prioritize cleaning of assigned guest rooms.
  • Transport cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens securely to assigned rooms.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
  • Thoroughly clean bathrooms, including mirrors, sinks, toilets, showers, and floors.
  • Change soiled bed linens and prepare beds with fresh linens.
  • Dust and clean closets and door tracks in check-out rooms, ensuring proper placement of hangers and amenities.
  • Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, and electronics.
  • Reorganize furniture according to the established floor plan.
  • Remove dust and smudges from doors, windows, and other surfaces.
  • Inspect and replenish amenities in guest rooms as needed.
  • Vacuum all areas of the room.
  • Update the status of cleaned rooms on the assignment sheet.
  • Restock cleaning carts and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
  • Ensure the security of any assigned guest room keys and report lost items to the supervisor.
  • Notify supervisors of any damages or maintenance needs.
  • Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Adhere to Lost and Found policies and internal key control.
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as operational needs evolve.
  • Prepare cribs and clean rollaway beds.
  • Maintain stock in laundry and supply closets.
  • Check under beds and furniture for debris and remove as necessary.
