Overview

This role is dynamic and involves active support across various departments.

The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for managing patient flow throughout the healthcare facility.

This position entails coordinating inpatient admissions and reallocating resources to address evolving patient requirements.

The primary location for this role is at Maine Medical Center Sanford, with responsibilities extending to the Biddeford campus as necessary.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate will possess:

  • Experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU); or ideally, a minimum of five years in medical-surgical nursing alongside leadership experience.

Position Responsibilities

The Nursing Supervisor - MMC BID SAN position is responsible for overseeing Nursing Services operations and serves as the hospital administrator during assigned shifts across all campuses. This role includes directing and supervising departmental staff and activities while upholding hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or an Associate's Degree in Nursing with relevant experience is required.
  2. Licensure/Certifications: A current Registered Nurse license from the Maine Board of Nursing is mandatory. A current BLS Certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment. ACLS Certification is preferred.
  3. Experience: A minimum of five years in an acute care environment is required. Experience in a hospital admissions setting is preferred. Proven experience in overseeing clinical staff on a daily basis is essential.
