Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of all facility and product-level certifications. This role involves hosting external audits for regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customers. The Quality Manager will create a schedule and conduct internal audits against each certification and regulation, including conducting biannual Mock Recall exercises. This individual will stay up-to-date on all certification and regulatory requirements and apply this knowledge to approve or deny change control requests for processes, equipment, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the adoption of a document control procedure to approve, review, and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS.
  • Establish and maintain records to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and ensure a system is in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time, and disposition of such records.
  • Review the performance of the QMS at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
  • Induct new staff into the requirements of the QMS related to their roles and responsibilities and provide update training as necessary.
  • Ensure the validation and qualifications programs, procedures, and activities are evaluated against the required standards and guidelines.
  • Host certification, regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Review and approve controlled documents.
  • Manage product-level certifications such as Kosher, Organic, Halal, etc., and ensure continued compliance with each.
  • Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or other Life Science from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or other Quality Systems Management role experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Strong knowledge of current quality systems requirements and implementation techniques.
  • Superior communication and analytical skills, plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
  • Customer-advocate to ensure on-time task completion.
  • Results-driven, strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
