Overview:
This role is essential in implementing and supporting departmental business systems, focusing on defining and maintaining the configuration of intricate systems to consistently meet the operational needs of the department. Acts as the intermediary between end-users, vendors, and information services regarding business application system challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defines and maintains system configurations to ensure they continually align with departmental operational requirements, including managing provider schedules through templates, EPIC, and other concurrent platforms to optimize system performance.
- Documents comprehensive business processes and related application workflows. Aids in the creation of detailed specifications for program development.
- Establishes and defines the scope and objectives for departmental systems development and implementation. Serves as a business expert, assisting users in articulating their needs. Modifies procedures to address application issues, considering equipment capabilities and desired outcomes. Acts as the primary liaison between the user community, vendors, and Information Services for problem resolution and enhancements to existing operational systems.
- Engages in system-wide initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and achieving institutional goals and objectives.
- Participates in testing both existing and new systems to confirm correct functionality. Validates the appropriate processing of new releases and added functionalities on departmental systems. Analyzes implications for system inclusion and assists in developing test scripts. Collaborates with Information Services to coordinate updates, releases, and new versions.
- Prepares financial and operational analysis materials for departmental and institutional planning and process enhancement. Identifies opportunities for improvement in business or application processing through data analysis. Participates in planning and establishing departmental reporting.
- Provides business process and application support to users. Analyzes and interprets program or system issues, determining and initiating suitable corrective actions. Communicates with vendors and Information Services as necessary to resolve issues.
- Facilitates user training, offering tips and techniques for effective system application usage. Coordinates employee training for new system implementations and assists with workflow modifications.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information System Management, Math/Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• If a Bachelor's degree: One (1) year of progressively responsible experience working with information systems.
• If an Associate's degree: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working with information systems.
• If a High School diploma or GED: Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience working with information systems.
