Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer is tasked with the commissioning, installation, troubleshooting, calibration, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of Burford's electro-mechanical equipment at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure new equipment at client sites utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, electrical diagrams, and other specifications to guide installation processes.
  • Review work orders and consult with equipment operators to identify whether technical or human errors have caused issues.
  • Assess and operate malfunctioning equipment to diagnose problems.
  • Examine and comprehend components of direct digital control systems.
  • Program, configure, and modify existing PLC programs using knowledge of electronics and Allen Bradley software for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure equipment operates correctly as stipulated by service or maintenance agreements.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, and replacement of worn components to avert issues.
  • Deliver operation and maintenance training to clients.
  • Provide technical support to clients and fellow Service Engineers via phone or on-site.
  • Generate trip reports for each service engagement.
  • Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and recommendations for product enhancements.

Job Type: Full-time

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Post-secondary education in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or at least 4 years of related experience without post-secondary education.
  • A minimum of 1 year of PLC programming experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with tools and measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% annually by driving and flying.
  • Possession of a valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Effective communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and related technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience with international travel.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
