Senior Apparel Designer Job Description

Huckberry is seeking a highly creative and innovative Senior Apparel Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for driving the product design process from concept to execution, ensuring that our activewear categories meet the highest standards of quality, fit, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute product design concepts for our activewear categories, including fabric development, lab dip selection, sketching, tech packs, proto review, fit review, and final approvals.
  • Collaborate with our PLM and Merchandising teams to create a best-in-class assortment that resonates with our customer, leveraging data and market trends to inform design decisions.
  • Continuously push and innovate our product offering through the use of best-in-class fabrics and trims.
  • Partner with our Product Development & Production team to ensure design vision is executed while meeting key milestones and metrics, such as delivery and gross margin.
  • Lead weekly fittings with our Technical Design team to ensure fit, quality, and construction standards meet internal standards.
  • Lead market, product, fabric, and trend research for active and outdoor industries.
  • Work with leadership and key stakeholders to shape the long-term vision and strategy of our activewear brands.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in designing men's apparel.
  • BA, BFA, or BS in Design (or equivalent) required.
  • Men's active or outdoor experience and passion required.
  • Extremely well-versed in activewear construction, fabrics, and trims with a pulse on new market innovations.
  • Highly creative and driven, with the ability to stay extremely organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in crafting the design vision for multiple categories and brands.
  • Deadline-driven and obsessed with the details.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with international vendors.
  • Highly proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, and working in PLM.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to provide direction, take feedback, and work with minimal supervision to ensure all deadlines are met.
