Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, with a focus on hands-on and project-based learning.
  • Lead and participate in committees related to curriculum structure, pedagogical elements, teaching facilities, and overall success of the Aeronautics and Astronautics undergraduate program.
  • Disseminate best teaching practices among faculty and lecturers, and be involved in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) summer program.
  • Advise undergraduate students to navigate the Aero and Astro curriculum and graduation requirements.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to enhance current courses and develop new ones.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in Aeronautics and Astronautics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of core application areas in Aeronautics and Astronautics, including system-level interactions and practical applications.
  • Strong commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for excellence in teaching.
  • Prior experience developing and synergizing various elements of an undergraduate curriculum is preferred.
Work Standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to create and deliver curriculum in the aerospace domain with attention to excellence and quality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well with University colleagues and with external organizations.
  • Comply with all applicable University policies and procedures.
