Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Specialist to join our team at Savista. As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in determining patient eligibility for benefits and assistance. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview applicants and determine eligibility for benefits or assistance
  • Provide case management services to patients, including assessments and eligibility determinations
  • Facilitate the application process and direct patients to the next appropriate step
  • Submit applications and supporting documentation to the appropriate institution
  • Follow up with patients, hospitals, and government agencies to ensure missing requirements are met
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
  • Act as an advocate for patients and liaison to other colleagues, client hospital personnel, and government agency staff
  • Communicate with other institutions for fact-checking and refer households to outside community resources as needed
  • Provide superior customer service and maintain a professional image
  • Meet or exceed established productivity, quality, and revenue metrics
  • Enter required data into computer systems and organize files accurately
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of working knowledge and experience with Medicaid programs
  • Prior experience working in a customer service role, interacting directly with customers
  • Experience working in a role that requires prioritization and quality achievement
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Proficient with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and schedule requirements
Preferred Requirements
  • College degree preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (or any other languages)
