Grocery Store Sales Associate

Job Summary:

To effectively manage and maintain the store's inventory, the ideal candidate will be responsible for stocking, ordering, and merchandising products for customer purchase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Open, price, and stock cases of merchandise to ensure accurate inventory levels and optimal store displays.
  • Place point-of-sale signs and tags as needed to promote products and enhance customer experience.
  • Assist customers with their questions and provide excellent customer service to drive sales and satisfaction.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Maintain merchandise on shelves in an orderly display and rotation to ensure easy customer access and visual appeal.
  • Clean fixtures and equipment as necessary to maintain a clean and safe store environment.
  • Maintain stock in storage areas to prevent overstocking and optimize inventory levels.
  • Order replacement merchandise and supplies as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient restocking process.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of damaged and lost merchandise to inform inventory management and minimize losses.
  • Complete routine price changes to ensure accurate pricing and minimize errors.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the store's operational needs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to meet the minimum age requirement for this role.
  • A high school diploma is preferred but not required, as the focus is on practical skills and experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to read aisle markers, shelf tags, and prices to accurately price and stock merchandise on shelves and displays.
  • Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations to accurately manage inventory and process transactions.
  • Must maintain a sense of integrity and adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a positive and trustworthy work environment.
