Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at MJ Care. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality physical therapy services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures to help patients regain movement and manage pain.
- Confer with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.
- Communicate with and instruct caregivers and family members on patient therapeutic activities and treatment plans.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements.
- Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, aquatic physical therapy, and heat, light, sound, and electrical modality treatments.
- Measure patients' range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations.
- Monitor operation of equipment and record use of equipment and administration of treatment.
- Fits patients for orthopaedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches.
- Conduct therapy practice within defined standards of care and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Communicate effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant school.
- Current state license and/or certification to provide physical therapist assistant services in good standing.
- Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- 1+ year of experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to accurately and efficiently use electronic medical records system.
- Strong communication skills including concentration, ability to learn, and good listening.
- Accurate problem solving, organization, time management, and math skills.
- Ability to interact in a personal and professional manner with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations and provide adequate assistance.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of patient interaction. The associate will be required to stand and walk frequently, bend and/or kneel, squat, balance, and/or crawl, reach above shoulder level, push, pull, and/or twist up to 100lbs, walk up/down stairs, lift and/or carry up to 100lbs and occasionally more than 100lbs, and use fine dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include being able to read documents, read computer screen, and observe work space. Specific hearing abilities required by the job include being able to hear in a moderately loud work environment.
