About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  2. Assist Radiologists: Prepare for and assist radiologists in the completion of intricate radiographic procedures, including the administration of contrast media and medications as needed.
  3. Patient Care: Perform patient assessments, provide patient care, and evaluate the appropriateness of examinations and the quality of radiographic images.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain image management equipment, report any equipment problems to the appropriate resources, and utilize PACS and HIS systems for obtaining additional study data.
  5. Quality and Safety: Perform work in a timely manner, produce quality radiographic images, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  6. Documentation and Communication: Document completion and/or cancellation of procedures in RIS, transmit QA-ed images to PACS, and verify that all information has arrived properly into PACS.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
  • Professional Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledgeable of radiation protection and safety, general and electrical safety, infection control, TB, and standard precautions.
