Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
  • Monitor residents' conditions, record significant incidents, and notify supervisors and family members as needed.
  • Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, to detect deviations from normal and assess residents' conditions.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services to ensure residents' needs are met.
  • Consult with shift supervisors on nursing problems and facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Report complaints or unusual problems to supervisors and assist with completion of facility complaint reports.
  • Participate in orientation and training of nursing personnel.
  • Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit.
  • Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physicians' instructions.
  • Assume responsibility for unit narcotics and maintain records.
  • Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.
  • Document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the care plan process, complete nursing assessments, and resident care plans accurately and timely on assigned residents.
  • Complete special projects and audits at the direction of supervisors, CCC, or Director of Nursing.
  • Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep license current.
  • Attend facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality, treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect, and know and comply with all Resident's Rights rules.
  • Promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.
  • Have regular and attendance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Travel experience required.
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required.
  • Covid vaccine strongly encouraged (if declining, mandated to wear a mask).
  • Ability and willingness to work the set schedule created by the facility.
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time.
  • Must have completed at least 1 successful assignment with submitting agency (note on work history).
  • BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • State license requirements: Michigan.
