Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Professional to join our team in a Long Term Care setting in Bellaire, MI. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations of residents.
  • Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors, physicians, and family members of resident conditions and reactions to medications, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess resident conditions.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to ensure resident needs are met in accordance with physician instructions, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.
  • Consult with Shift Supervisors on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Report all complaints or unusual problems to supervisors and assist with completion of facility complaint reports.
  • Participate in orientation and training and evaluation of nursing personnel.
  • Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit.
  • Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatments are administered in accordance with physician instructions.
  • Assume responsibility and maintain records for unit narcotics.
  • Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.
  • Responsible to document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the care plan process, complete nursing assessments, and resident care plans accurately and timely on assigned residents.
  • Complete special projects and audits at the direction of the Supervisor, CCC, or Director of Nursing.
  • Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep licenses current. Attend facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; know and comply with all Resident's Rights rules; and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.
  • Must have regular and attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Additional Facility Information
  • May be asked to serve in Charge capacity.
  • No block schedule guaranteed.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Facility address is across from Humane Society and may occasionally have a Canine support visitor. If Clinician is afraid of dogs, may not be the best fit.
Requirements
  • 2+ Years Experience - Required.
  • Travel experience strongly encouraged.
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) - Required.
  • MI CNA License - Required.
  • Covid Vaccine - strongly encouraged -- (if declining, mandated to wear a mask) --.
  • Ability to move up to 25 lbs. & frequently lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Clinician MUST work the set schedule created by the Facility.
Scheduling

Every other weekend along with 2 shifts during the week to make 36 hours per week. Block scheduling CANNOT be guaranteed.

Client operates on a Sunday-Saturday schedule so there may be scheduling on Sunday or Saturday + the two days during the week equating to 36 hrs/week. Timesheets are NOT to be signed by the Facility. Timesheets will be uploaded unsigned to TRIO for AHSA & Meadow Brook MCF review.

Agency MUST have mandated State of Michigan ICHAT account set up prior to submittal as it may take 3+ weeks to be set up with an account.
