Job Summary:

Ohel Children's Home and Family Services is seeking a Peer Specialist to provide person-centered planning and delivery of services to older adults in their home.

The Peer Specialist will have lived experience utilizing mental health services and will be responsible for mentoring individuals diagnosed with mental health disorders by providing supportive and skills-building services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide face-to-face services to assist connecting individuals to community-based recovery supports consistent with their treatment plan.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with the program's policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate organizational and communication skills to enable effective interaction with fellow team members, individuals/clients/families, and the community.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification by OMH or OASAS as a Peer Specialist with experience working with behavioral health populations.

Work Environment:

This part-time position is based in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
