Job Summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness
  • Interview patients to obtain medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script
  • Review images, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Provide imaging education to residents and new employees
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
Skills
  • Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing radiographs
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment
  • Knowledge of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation
Work Environment

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is a comprehensive heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic services hospital. Our joint replacement program features revolutionary minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery.

We operate more than 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties. We are one of 10 hospitals in the nation to be awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set the standards of cardiac care for hospitals and physicians throughout the nation.
