Job Summary

At DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in a part-time evening position. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
  • Set up equipment and acquire high-quality images as per script.
  • Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as necessary.
  • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
  • Deliver imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training within the orientation period.
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
