The University of Miami Health System is seeking a qualified and proficient General Cardiologist to enhance our medical team within the Department of Medicine, specifically in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The successful candidate will possess exceptional clinical abilities, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be adept at delivering high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The UHealth Tower, a 500-bed facility, is renowned for its comprehensive cardiovascular offerings, including advanced interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiothoracic surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert clinical care and consultative services for patients with diverse cardiovascular conditions.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, formulate treatment strategies, and manage ongoing patient care.
  • Perform and analyze various diagnostic procedures, including echocardiograms, CT scans, MRI scans, and nuclear cardiology evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute effective patient care plans.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the cardiology team, fostering the development of trainees and junior staff.
  • Engage in academic and educational activities, such as teaching medical students and participating in research projects.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of patient information and comply with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree is required.
  • Board certification in Cardiology is mandatory.
  • Possession of an active medical license from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
  • Proficiency in conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, CT scans, MRI scans, and nuclear cardiology studies.
  • Exemplary leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in academic and educational roles, including teaching and research involvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, colleagues, and hospital administration.
  • Professional demeanor with superior patient engagement capabilities.
