SUMMARY
This role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and plays a crucial part in the formulation and execution of Human Resources policies and practices. The incumbent will be responsible for crafting internal communications related to employee relations, organizational policies, compensation structures, training initiatives, and benefits programs. A comprehensive understanding of standard Human Resources principles, practices, and protocols is essential. The position may involve overseeing and guiding the work of others on occasion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with employment, safety, employee relations, and equal opportunity policies in accordance with federal and state labor regulations.
- Providing expert advice and support to management and staff on various topics including employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Assessing employee relations and work-related concerns, collaborating with supervisors to determine effective resolutions.
- Conducting thorough investigations involving fact-finding to address significant issues and mitigate potential employment-related risks.
- Researching and formulating responses to agency inquiries, representing the company in unemployment hearings.
- Delivering training sessions for management and staff on updates to HR programs and procedures.
- Promoting adherence to company policies to facilitate effective coaching for supervisors regarding disciplinary actions and related HR processes.
- Maintaining accurate records and files to comply with regulatory standards and corporate policies.
- Preparing documentation for employee separations and conducting exit interviews to gather insights on turnover.
- Drafting offer letters for various employment categories and may be involved in extending job offers.
- Monitoring employee metrics such as headcount and turnover, compiling data, and generating reports as needed.
- Addressing employee inquiries related to hiring processes, transfers, and job applications.
- Facilitating recruitment efforts, including sourcing candidates, creating job descriptions, and managing internal job postings.
- Drafting and disseminating company policies, procedures, and internal communications.
- Administering employee benefits programs and Human Resources information systems.
- Establishing professional relationships with recruitment agencies and other organizations.
- Conducting analyses to ensure alignment between compensation strategies and business objectives.
- Participating in market surveys to evaluate the company's competitive standing.
- Overseeing the employee performance evaluation process.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an advanced degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 15 years of prior experience in Human Resources is required.
- Professional certification is preferred.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:
- Strong knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to Human Resources.
- Basic financial acumen and familiarity with budgetary processes.
- Project management skills are a plus.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with a focus on spreadsheet management.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and organizational skills.
- Capability to comprehend and apply all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and willingness to travel as necessary.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Proficiency in reading and interpreting policies, labor laws, and federal regulations is essential.
