Accounting Manager Job Description

We are a dynamic and innovative construction company dedicated to delivering exceptional projects. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Controller/Accounting Manager to help us achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
    • Monitor project costs against budgets and identify potential cost overruns or savings.
  • Accounting and Reporting:
    • Supervise the accounting team and ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards.
    • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Coordinate audits and tax returns.
  • Contract Management:
    • Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms.
    • Manage contract variations and claims.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with construction projects.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or financial management.
  • Strong understanding of construction industry accounting practices and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
