Job Overview

This Clerical Specialist - Social Services role supports the efficient operation of the Case Management/Social Services Office, providing excellent customer service and maintaining records and managing information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures efficient operation of office: opens mail, distributes, duplicates correspondence, and other information
  • Maintains records and adheres to department timelines: coordinates, maintains, updates files, records, minutes, reports, and confidential materials
  • Provides customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Answers telephones, directs calls, takes messages, handles queries as appropriate, and makes follow-up calls
  • Types such correspondence as letters, memos, and reports
  • Adheres to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year post-high school training
  • A minimum of six months clerical, secretarial, or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate language, basic mathematical, intermediate reasoning ability
  • Excellent telephone and public relations skills
  • Ability to interact well with people of diverse backgrounds, ability to convey a positive image for the department

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this position is $42,000 - $58,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
