Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Acquisition Analyst to join our team at Meritage Homes. As a key member of our land acquisition team, you will be responsible for gathering, compiling, and analyzing information to complete research and financial analysis of land under consideration for purchase.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of land parcels to identify potential acquisition opportunities
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to support land acquisition decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to provide updated land maps and coordinate with external parties
  • Utilize research tools such as Metrostudy to assist in land and market evaluations
  • Assist in daily land research responsibilities and visit competing communities sales centers to procure pricing and other key indicators
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Marketing, Finance, Construction Management, Planning, or Civil Engineering
  • 3-5 years of related experience with a strong understanding of acquisitions and/or development
  • Local real estate knowledge is highly beneficial
  • Strong management capabilities with experience in managing people, department operations, budget preparation, and pro-forma management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and advanced skills in creating and implementing work plans, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and composing letters and acquisition packages

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle stress of dealing with public and governmental agencies and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Self-starter with a proactive and creative approach to addressing issues
