About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Analyst to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Legal Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing legal analysis services to support the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize legal services work to meet the organization's objectives
  • Review and manage requests for information and documents under the Georgia Open Records Act and as part of the public health information portal
  • Coordinate the work with other legal and non-legal units
  • Draft and review proposed legislation and regulations
  • Manage the assignment and completion of unit workload to meet the legal needs of the agency
  • Oversee the development of internal procedures and practices of required legal services in the area of assignment
  • Plan legal strategy and remedy for cases
  • Plan, assign, direct, and supervise the legal work of a legal staff
  • Provide advice on legal and operational matters relating to the agency and the legal environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours in criminal justice or a related field
  • Six (6) years of experience in the related area; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Legal Analysis Spec 2 (LEP041) or position equivalent
