About the Job

AEG Vision is seeking a skilled Optical Consultant to join our team. As an Optical Consultant, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive exceptional eye care and eyewear solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and provide patients with a comprehensive understanding of our products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a loyal patient base through exceptional service and referrals.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry products, procedures, and manufacturer rebates.
  • Manage patient calls, update patients on order status, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Retrieve patient charts and electronic health records.
  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments.
  • Educate patients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care.
  • Collect eye and face measurements to ensure proper fit.
  • Interpret prescriptions and create work orders for lab technicians.
  • Follow up on pending orders and verify they are completed within the given time frame.
  • Dispense glasses, inspecting the product for proper fit and quality.
  • Adjust eyewear to ensure visual acuity, proper fit, and patient comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians and store managers to provide additional patient information or request order status.
  • Inspect final products for quality and cleanliness.
  • Clean and organize store displays, work areas, and office spaces.
  • Restock retail boards with new merchandise.
  • Provide thorough and accurate information to patients regarding insurance, warranty, products, and services.
  • Collaborate with technicians, front desk associates, managers, and optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred
  • Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and stand up to 8hrs a day
