Overview:


DePaul is seeking a dedicated mental health professional to become a vital part of our team. Under the guidance of the Residential Supervisor, the Residential Care Assistant Supervisor is responsible for providing care, rehabilitation training, support, and oversight to enhance community living skills for residents.

This role includes offering leadership, supervision, and training related to medication management, policies, systems, and standards. In the absence of the Residential Supervisor, this position will act as the Program Site Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
Direct Service Responsibilities:


Uphold and respect the rights and confidentiality of residents while demonstrating a positive and compassionate attitude towards all residents, staff, guests, and service providers.


Deliver teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented support in alignment with OMH 593 and 595, which includes rehabilitative services such as Assertiveness/Self-Advocacy Training, Community Integration/Resource Development, Daily Living Skills, Health Services, Medication Management Training, Parenting Training, Rehabilitative Counseling, Skill Development, Socialization, Substance Abuse Services, and Symptom Management.


Ensure that each resident on your caseload receives thorough planning through a person-centered approach for admission (including the completion of admission notes), ongoing recovery-oriented services, and discharge.

Guarantee that each plan is comprehensive and current in accordance with established standards and the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Monitor, document, and report resident behaviors and progress in line with agency standards.

Assist residents in preparing nutritious meals, including food preparation as necessary.

Support the planning, implementation, and facilitation of recreational activities.

Provide safe transportation for residents when required.

Complete household tasks assigned by the supervisor to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.

Oversee and document resident medications in accordance with agency policies.

Perform any additional duties necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the community residence.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Fulfill medication coordinator roles and provide leadership, supervision, and training related to medication management, policies, systems, and standards.

Supervise the program in the absence of the Residential Supervisor, including oversight of resident care, staff, and the physical environment.

Assist in the interviewing process and provide hiring recommendations to the supervisor.


Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required by the supervisor and collaborate as a member of the residential team for each resident.

Contribute relevant input for treatment team meetings, staff meetings, continued stay reviews, and other pertinent meetings.


Support the manager in maintaining positive relationships with the community, external service providers, and family members to foster community involvement and participation.

Share in on-call responsibilities for the program as designated by the Residential Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education / Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Services is preferred, along with at least one year of related experience or a combination of education and experience that meets QMHS status as defined by The Office of Mental Health (OMH).


Other:
A driving record that complies with the agency's Clean Driving Record Policy is required. Candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
