Job Title: Installation Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Installation Technician to join our team at Homeland Safety Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and servicing electronic control systems for our customers, including door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and service electronic control systems, including door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and communication systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance of installed equipment and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Train customers on software and equipment usage and navigation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed and equipment used, following established policies.
  • Coordinate work efforts with the Operations staff and other technicians while building strong relationships with customers.
  • Manage a technician crew and job site when required.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as security installation, fire alarm, or electrician apprentice.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for the role.
  • Clean background check and ability to pass a state and federal background check to obtain industry licenses and security clearance.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens (Required by State Law).
  • Flexible schedule, including nights/weekend work and out-of-town – overnight travel, as needed.
  • Current driver's license and clean driving record (MVR).
  • Possess or be able to obtain proper state licensing once hired.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of electronics.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Possess a dedication to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent time management, planning, and forward-thinking skills.
  • Possess excellent telephone etiquette, communication, and listening skills.
  • Possess the ability to self-motivate and work with little supervision.
  • Operate hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, site maps and drawings, and related documents associated with the installation and service of security systems.
  • Present a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with customers and employees.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work on lifts as needed.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in one or more of the following Trades: security installation, fire alarm, electrician apprentice, network administration, or other relevant electronics fields.
