We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Center Nurse Executive to maintain adequate nursing coverage and ensure safe patient care.
- Effectively utilize existing resources to minimize overtime and agency personnel.
- Participate in staff recruitment, assessment, and development to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
- Assist with the Individual Performance Improvement Plan for staff whose performance does not meet center expectations.
- Recommend and facilitate employee promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide timely and effective care consistent with individual needs and preferences.
- Investigate patient/family complaints and take appropriate actions to bring to resolution.
- Identify educational needs of staff and communicate needs to the Nurse Practice Educator.
- Participate in the evaluation of staff competency and assist with the orientation of newly hired nursing staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance of the MDS process and that it reflects the patient's plan of care.
- Oversee medication management to ensure adequate supplies and that all medications are handled in accordance with Genesis policy.
- Facilitate discharge planning process and provide consultation as needed.
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI).
