Job Summary:

The Nursing Supervisor is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. This role serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Center Nurse Executive, ADON, and Unit Managers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Center Nurse Executive to maintain adequate nursing coverage for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Effectively utilize existing Client resources, limiting the use of overtime and agency personnel.
• Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, and selection of nursing personnel.
• Assess the work performance of nursing staff, relating to their job description, unit standards of care, and goals of the individual.
• Assist with the Individual Performance Improvement Plan for staff whose performance does not meet center expectations, and when necessary, recommend or initiate disciplinary action.
• Recommend and facilitate employee promotions, transfers, and terminations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide timely and effective care consistent with individuals' needs, choices, and preferences.
• Answer any emergencies throughout the shift, such as change of condition, starting IVs, pronouncement of death.
• Foster a strong partnership between the medical staff and the department of nursing.
• Make recommendations to the Center Nurse Executive regarding nursing care equipment and supplies required to meet the needs of the patients and assure that adequate supplies are available.
• Promote a culture of safety to ensure a healthy practice and living environment.
• Participate in meetings to address patient care, survey, and/or standards of care issues as requested.
• Ensure that the building is secure during the assigned shift by checking doors and alarms according to nursing center protocols.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
