Job Title: Wet Underground Utilities and Plumbing Construction Project Manager

At SSP Industries, L.P., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead our commercial plumbing and wet utilities projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety, day-to-day operations, and delivery of all projects, as well as planning and communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of supervisors and analysts to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
  • Lead an interdepartmental team to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project, and prepare and implement a budget based on estimates.
  • Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for mitigation of risk.
  • Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Identify issues and provide resolution through Request for Information (RFI) and Change Order processes.
  • Identify manpower and equipment needs through interaction with company project superintendents.
  • Evaluate project schedule status and provide solutions to maintain the period of performance completion dates.
  • Validate contract work scopes.
  • Assist with estimating from start to finish during times of high bid volume.
  • Review material submittals and shop drawings.
  • Assist project superintendents with material orders when needed.
  • Have a complete working knowledge of all aspects of commercial plumbing from estimating the project to installation.
  • Act as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Communicate and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Basic Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling using MS Project.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Construction Management, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least three years of commercial plumbing, wet utilities, or related experience.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Estimating experience, preferably with Estimation Estimating Software (Clearview- Viewpoint Construction Software).
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to traverse on uneven surfaces throughout the entire facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
