Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Family Care Center team at King's Daughters Medical Center. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRNs) in delivering exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for physician and/or APRN visits by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and medication information.
  • Gather health data through physical assessments and biological samples, and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provide basic patient care as ordered, administer medications, and monitor treatment progress.
  • Document assessment and treatment effectiveness, and actively manage nursing in-basket responsibilities.
  • Teach patients and their families about their care, treatment, and identified risks.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Active LPN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (or other eNLC state with multistate privileges) and/or Ohio.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One year LPN experience preferred.
Working Environment

Our Family Care Center is a fast-paced environment where you will be constantly working near moving mechanical parts, exposed to blood and/or body fluids, and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation.

Physical Demands

This role requires occasional standing, frequent walking and moving about, and frequent use of fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices. You will also be required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds occasionally.
