Job Overview

The Lead Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in supervising the legal department, focusing on a diverse range of personal injury matters. This position demands exceptional leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of personal injury legislation, and a commitment to client advocacy.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a group of associate attorneys, paralegals, and administrative personnel. Offer direction and support to guarantee exceptional legal representation and professional growth.
  • Case Oversight: Manage a portfolio of intricate personal injury cases from initial consultation to resolution, including litigation and trial processes. Ensure prompt and effective case management.
  • Strategic Legal Planning: Formulate and execute case strategies, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court. Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
  • Client Engagement: Foster strong relationships with clients, providing consistent updates and addressing their needs and concerns. Maintain the highest standards of client service and ethical conduct.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. Identify and mitigate risks associated with case management and firm operations.
  • Professional Development: Keep abreast of developments in personal injury law and legal practices. Lead and engage in ongoing education and training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Active Bar admission in CA
  • At least 8 years of experience in personal injury law, demonstrating a successful track record.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a legal team.
  • Exceptional litigation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
