Job Title: Mid-Level Marine Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Marine Geotechnical Engineer to join our offshore geotechnical engineering team in Houston, Texas.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced individual to contribute to innovative and challenging projects involving offshore marine renewable energy projects, offshore oil and gas developments, and onshore and nearshore industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage offshore and onshore geotechnical investigations
  • Oversee and directly perform fieldwork in support of offshore and onshore geotechnical investigations
  • Develop and manage geotechnical laboratory testing programs, including advanced testing methods
  • Select geotechnical parameters for engineering design
  • Perform and review engineering calculations, including slope stability assessments, foundation designs, pipe-soil interaction analyses, and seismic evaluations
  • Prepare construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications
  • Write and review technical reports, letters, and memoranda
  • Manage multiple projects within the scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
  • Develop business opportunities with new and existing clients and prepare associated proposals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical, or ocean engineering (required)
  • Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (preferred)
  • At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of relevant work experience in engineering consulting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of experience as a marine geotechnical engineer working on offshore projects in support of the energy sector
  • Strong fundamentals in geotechnical engineering theory and practice
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and travel as needed
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and overnight travel
  • OPITO BOSIET, OSHA health and safety, First Aid, and CPR training and refreshers
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
