About the Role

The Culinary Services Manager (also known as Restaurant Manager) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall dining experience for residents by providing exceptional leadership and fine dining training to Front of House staff while maintaining high service standards. This position oversees all culinary and dining operations across various venues, including Bistro, Casual, Formal, Luminations Memory Care, Room Service, and Club Room, in addition to managing special events and private functions. The Culinary Services Manager is expected to deliver service in a professional, friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring a high level of satisfaction for residents and their guests. This role operates under the general direction of the Executive Chef, adhering to community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophies.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Culinary Services Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from culinary school or other relevant training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Completion of a Culinary or Apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing Food & Beverage or Front of House operations in a country club, fine dining restaurant, or upscale senior living environment is required. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment and utensils effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language to manage, hire, and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate effectively with employees, residents, and their guests.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
