About the Role

RQ Construction is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assistant Project Manager to join our Field Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to the Mechanical Project Manager in managing all aspects and phases of a mechanical construction project from conceptual development to final completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize, plan, direct, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and personnel manage processes to safely produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Support the Mechanical Project Manager in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and field personnel, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, ensuring effective project control and reporting.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, including mechanical system design, installation, and testing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
  • Courses in project management, construction management, mechanical trade school, BIM, and CADD are preferred.
  • Two or more years of work experience as a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer responsible for supporting numerous projects and sizes (of the mechanical scope) of at least $5,000,000 (commercial or industrial) are required.
  • Two or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience with mechanical systems are highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience are preferred.
  • Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6) are preferred, with training provided as needed.
  • Specific software literacy (BIM) are preferred, with training provided as needed.
